An inaugural event for Desert Stones! Welcome to the first edition of my accessories blog. Every couple of weeks I'll be featuring photographs of my newest pieces of custom jewelry as well as information about the who, what, when, where and why of each piece. Click on any photo and get up close and personal.
From time to time I'll feature accessories from other artists, fun and interesting bits and pieces to charge up your wardrobe.
My goal is to entertain you and hopefully add another dimension to your world. I'll always appreciate comments and I love questions. While I can't guarantee the pieces featured are still available for sale, if you see something you love let me know.
I work with metals;
From left to right; "Windows" pendant I; "Pod" pendant, "Windows" pendant II. Hand forged copper, freshwater pearls, South African recycled glass, Kukui nut, custom glass beads, sterling silver, polymer clay and much, much more!
I work with custom glass lamp work beads I purchase from glass artists all over the world;
And I create custom fine silver PMC (precious metal clay) pendants and "build" jewelry around them.
PMC, precious metal clay, is a pure silver dust in an organic clay base. I mold the piece I want and fire it in my kiln. The organic base burns off and I'm left with a pure silver (.999) piece. Fine, or pure silver has no alloy in it, the piece won't tarnish!
So-I begin here;
And end up somewhere in between crazy and delighted!
